Discover a unique reality in the Monferrato’s area: Casa Serra

A cutting-edge farm that knows how to offer you a stay full of attention

Discover a unique reality in the Monferrato’s area: Casa Serra

Casa Serra is a small paradise located in the Asti countryside, nestled between the valleys and hills of the paleontological nature reserve of Valleandona, Valle Grande and Val Botto. Ideal place to relax, play sports, take pictures to share with friends or enjoy delicious traditional dishes. Natural gateway to Monferrato, Langhe and Roero, recently awarded the Unesco Heritage, Casa Serra welcomes its guests in a context that combines the taste of tradition with the contemporary, and offers all the comforts for an unforgettable stay.

“Casa Serra Eco-Resort & Spa, largely powered by renewable energy, is located within the farm of the same name, available to guests for a guided tour.”

The property has a large outdoor swimming pool, a spa and wellness area and a delightful indoor restaurant. The restaurant offers food and wine experiences, with tastings of the products of Casa Serra and those of other food producers in the area, selected on the basis of production methods and ethical approach. The Casa Serra farm raises grass-fed cattle, managing the entire supply chain, from reproduction to sale. The quality of the meat comes from the characteristics of farming, grazing and non-intensive production, which reduces the risk of disease by allowing “antibiotic-free” animals to be grown, to the benefit of animal and consumer health. In combination with and as an alternative to meat, other local products are offered such as hazelnuts, wines, compotes, juices, and cereals.

Guests of Casa Serra can visit the farm: vast meadows on which several graze cattle breeds, raised according to ethical principles. In addition to cattle, the company also raises horses, goats and chickens.

The area surrounding the structure is ideal for excursions on foot or by bicycle, thanks to the presence of the routes of the “Great Ring of the Andona and Grande Valleys”. Casa Serra offers its guests Nordic Walking sticks and bicycles. In fact, there are different types of routes for everyone’s needs. Casa Serra also offers horseback riding, to enjoy the surrounding nature. Finally, another type of slow tour, through the farm’s territories, is on the saddle of an e-bike with the company of the nationally certified mountain bike guides of Nut Gang.

Casa Serra, located within the Natural Reserve of the Andona Valley, Valle Botto and Val Grande, is one of the rare cases in Italy of areas intended for the scientific and cultural protection of the paleontological heritage. In fact, Casa Serra organizes visits to the nearby Asti Territorial Paleontological Museum. The temporary exhibition completes the permanent itinerary and, until 17 September 2022, it exhibits for the first time one of the most important European collections of cetacean fossils found in Piedmont, some of which are unique in the world. Among the rarest and most fascinating finds, the Tersilla whale, unique in the world; the oldest whale in the Mediterranean, found in Moleto; the whale of Montafia, one of the best preserved fossil in Italy; the dolphin of Camerano Casasco, ancestor of both the current dolphins and killer whales.
