If we tell you Barolo, the famous wine of the Langhe will immediately come to mind. But Barolo is also a beautiful village, located right in the hills of the Langhe in Piedmont, in the province of Cuneo. Many tourists, attracted by the prestigious wine, discover a very pleasant and characteristic village, formed by a several narrow streets on which small houses overlook. The village is dominated by the Castle of the Marquis Falletti of Barolo.
Although Barolo has become an important tourist destination and a reference point for wine production, in the village you can still breathe the simplicity and traditions that have not changed over the years. Barolo, extracted from Nebbiolo grapes, is produced only in 11 municipalities in this area.
As tradition and production discipline want, there are 11 municipalities where Nebbiolo grapes become Barolo, distributed over an area of about 1700 hectares: Cherasco, Verduno, Roddi, La Morra, Grinzane Cavour, Castiglione Falletto, Diano d’Alba, Barolo, Novello, Serralunga d’Alba and Monforte d’Alba, the 11 essences, the protagonists, which make up the Barolo DOCG since 1980. Each municipality, area, sub-area, vineyard and parcel are magical and diverse expressions that are hidden within every single vintage and bottle.
