Farm-to-Table

A true full-immersion experience into the farmer job

Farm-to-Table

A great way to immerse yourself in local Italian country-life, and to get to know the tradition and culture of the Belpaese is to visit wine/cheese/salami/fruit and many other excellent producers at their farms.

During your vacation we will bring you to visit awarded producers that follow the Slow Food mantra of Good, Clean and Fair. Good to eat, Clean because it is produced in an eco-sustainable way that respects the environment and Fair because it conforms to social equity during production and marketing.

Have you ever dreamed about how the cheese is made? Piemonte is still plenty of artisanal cheese maker and you would be able to see from the animal meadows, to the cheese production and of course be able to taste the final creation.

“If you are more a cheese expert you can have a guided tasting by the cheesemonger through the sensorial analysis techniques and even refine your own cheese!”

How about hazelnuts? Maybe Nutella by Ferrero is the most well-known spreadable product with hazelnuts that you know, but there are many other farmers that grow hazelnuts plants and make cookies, cakes, pralines, spreads and even tajarin with hazelnut flour! You’ll see from the plant to the hazelnut roasting process.

Do you like salami? Here in Piemonte you can visit a farm where pigs are completely outdoor. The key point of this company is animal health and well-being, with a healthy and natural diet.

If you are lucky enough to visit Piemonte during harvest time, the busiest time of the year, you can participate to this incredible experience. Grape hand picking is quite a repetitive job, but after getting into a groove it becomes quite meditative. People collect grapes in plastic crates and placed the full crates between the vines. The tractor than comes and collects the crates on a trailer. At the end of the day all the grapes go through the destemming machine and then pumped into large stainless steel tanks to begin the fermentation process. You can taste the grape and understand the level of sugar in it. Harvest is a convivial activity, at the end of the work everyone gather for a toast and to eat together in a sort of feast.

These are just some of the incredible local activities that you would be involved during your trip with us. We are determined to move forward in creating an enjoyable experience that all guests will bring home with them.
