Treat yourself to an exclusive Italian experience designed just for you. Enjoy a luxury vacation diving into the Dolce Vita and its premium enogastronomy.
Developed from a vision to connect travelers to Italian flavors and to embody the passion of local producers into their journey. The idea spawned from Valerio and Elena, both graduates of the Gastronomic Sciences University of Slow Food in Pollenzo and both in love with their territory: Piedmont. After having visited many countries in the world, worked in hospitality, restaurant and wine-related experiences, we decided to come back to Italy and create a project that enhances and promotes Italian and Piedmontese territoriality, focusing on guests of excellence, offering exclusive and enviable itineraries.
I am truly a food lover.
One of my first memories: raw meat tartare topped with fresh porcini when I was 6 years old!
I think of myself as a person who enjoys eating and drinking delicious things. Of course I am a disaster when it comes to cooking, which makes me a real restaurant hunter! All my life I’ve planned my trips solely around the tastes of whatever destination I was going to. Before becoming the co-founder of THE ITALIAN TROTTER, I’ve had several, diverse work experiences in the hospitality industry, more specifically as a restaurant and event manager both in Italy and in the US. This, combined with my passion for travel and food, proved to be fundamental in leading me to start the collaboration with Valerio.
I was born in Alba, in the heart of the Langhe region and raised in Castagnole delle Lanze, a small village nestled between Alba and Asti in a family of grape growers and wine producers.
As a natural, curious lover of my land and its enogastronomy,
it came quite easy for me to honor my call, attending first, the Enology and Viticulture High School of Alba and then specializing in Gastronomic Sciences at the University of Slow Food in Pollenzo. Right after graduating, I started to work in the hospitality and food and wine sector both in Italy and in the U.S. and had the opportunity to visit several places around the world as well as new cultures and new food/wine production realities. I like to design itineraries (trying them myself) for the most discerning taste buds as well as for the most adventurous travelers, in accordance with my own passions. The same ones that led me to establish THE ITALIAN TROTTER with my good friend Elena.
Sees its key point in providing its guests with a personalized experience, responding promptly to all needs and organizing truly unique and exciting itineraries. The high level of the visits is given by the expertise and know-how of the tour operator co-founders. The fundamental values which are brought forth in this project are professionalism, given by deep knowledge of the territory, experience in the food and wine field, flexibility of the service and the research to create a personalized journey for each guest. In December 2019 we have won over 100 Italian businesses the INVITALIA’S Change challenge as an innovative startup in the field of eco-sustainable tourism. The prize focuses on the organization who prepares, lives and tells about travel experience and offers solutions to choose, verify, judge all the aspects and behaviors that revolve around the tour’s green sensibilities.
